How can I submit a request for a custom painting?
I love custom painting requests! Please submit your request. It is helpful to provide me with pictures, details, who the painting is for, what your relationship is to them, and why you want to immortalize this memory in a painting. It's easier for me to create your dream painting if I can deeply understand your emotional connection to the custom painting request.

I saw a painting of yours that I REALLY liked, but it's not for sale... Will you make another one for me?
I would be more than happy to! However, I won't make it identical to that painting you liked. I'm only human, so I can't promise to create the exact same painting and I wouldn't want to. One of the benefits of ordering from an artist is that your home decor will be totally unique to you! In fact, I would LOVE it if you emailed me, "Hey McCayla! I absolutely fell in love with your 'Walk With Me' painting. Could you create one for me and include two bicycles resting on one of the trees? Make it look as if two bikers decided to stroll through the woods for a bit on foot? My husband and I LOVE to do this and it would feel like the painting was MADE for us!" (and in fact, it would be made JUST FOR YOU.)
OR... You can purchase a print of most of my original artwork on my RedBubble site: The Selcouth Woman

How much do you charge for your paintings?
Great question. The answer to this question is a bit complex. You can always send me an email and ask for a simple $$ answer. Or you can read below for a bit more information.
For available original paintings - The available inventory of original paintings are clearly priced for your convenience. The price is a combination of material costs level of detail, and time spent working on the painting. If you want a painting shipped to you, you will be charged shipping costs on top of the price of the painting.
For customized paintings - I would ask you a series of questions including but not limited to, "What is your budget? What level of detail would you like to be added? What size canvas would you like? What colors would you like me to include? What colors would you like me to exclude? What reference photos do you have to share with me?" After which I would create a quote for you. The price will be a combination of material costs level of detail, and time spent working on the painting. If you want a painting shipped to you, you will be charged shipping costs on top of the price of the painting.

Original Artwork
What medium do you work with?
Acrylic paints on canvas.

Can you do watercolor paintings?
No, I only paint with acrylic paint.

Can you do oil paintings?
No, I only paint with acrylic paint.

Would you paint on wood instead of a canvas?
Absolutely! I grew up on a farm that has been in my family since 1851 so there were wooden barns everwhere. Any chance to work with reclaimed wood brings me so much joy! Just look at "Wooden Mountains" for an example. I painted "Wooden Mountains" on a piece of reclaimed wood from one of the last standing round barns in Minnesota. Just let me know what you have in mind, and I'll do my best to bring it to life!
